What is Microneedling?
It is a skin rejuvenation procedure that causes a controlled injury, followed by the natural healing response which increases collagen and elastin, while decreasing pigmentation and scars.
What to Expect?
The skin is numbed with a topical cream to ensure comfort. During the procedure a pen with many fine needles is pressed against the skin to make micro-punctures, which on their own signal healing. However, Microneedling also allows for powerful serums to enter the skin more effectively, therefore, depending on the amount of downtime a person has, a microneedling procedure can go from no downtime to a week or more. Adding topicals such as Exosomes or PRP will expedite the healing process to a day or so, while aggressive scar work with PRP requires 3-5 days.
